I have installed gambit6.3.12 on ubuntu 9.10, now the problem is how to start it? ?
in the directori /fluent.inc/gambit2.3.16/lnx there is an executable that is called gambit .. from terminal moving to the directory and typing : gambit ... (also with xll option ) tells me that gambit is not currently installed on this computer write sudo apt-get gambit to install it......
The problem is that there is an idiotic game on ubuntu called gambit and with that ubuntu command refers to that little game... if someone has any idea:finger:

I resume this old discussion because I have installed the same version of gambit on ubuntu 10.04, they place me in the folder where the executable gambit, open the terminal and type

./gambit (I also tried with sudo ./gambit)

and gives me the following error message

./gambit: error while loading shared libraries: d.so: cannot open shared object file: no such file or directory

but the d.so file exists in the folder (together with all other libraries. . . )

What can that be?

Hello, Elijah, I can help you! use gambit on ubuntu and debian etc.. But then you will have to help me. .

then to use gambit I highly recommend you export the path to .bashrc .. thanks to this you can simply launch the program with the "gambit" command in any route you move... I'll explain better, as you know, gambit creates temporary files that often "sport" the directory from which you start.. then export the path and live quiet... (if you don't know how to ask .. )

now I ask you .. I have installed gambit on lucid (10.04) but the program seems to have big bugs .. I saw that there is a similar discussion also on the forum of linux but it is rare to find users who are dealing with cfd
