inherit colors catia v5

Hello everyone!
Forgive the question that perhaps for many will be trivial, but how do I inherit the colors of the surfaces on catia v5?
I'd like to do what this guy does in this video:

I would like to maintain the color of each single surface, both after the union and the cutting of the solid. then if you see the end of the video, changing the color of a surface, you also update the correspondent in the solid!
I have already tried to tick the voice: inherit colors of the reference feature, in the "part document" window, but without getting any results. if it can serve, I usually use r26.
If anyone could tell me how to do it, I'd be very grateful.
