to try to quickly learn how to move in this "new world", I searched on the net of the tables to reproduce in 3d. I found all the drawings (in pdf) of an automatic gun so I decided to use it as "palestra" since it presents modeling both solid and surface.
using free time I managed to reproduce it almost entirely (I miss some details that as soon as I have time I will try to finish) and I was definitely useful.
It would be nice that some of us, especially those who spread the drawing software, chose a subject and reproduced it as done for the 500 engine, dividing the tasks. a model the piston, one the biella, etc.
If you want, I'm always available.
It is an uninterested availability, it helps me to take confidence with creo...:biggrin:

It would be nice, but I would say that modeling that engine in 3d with the data at our disposal is practically out of discussion. in the tables there are very few quotas, so many fote, beautiful, figures, etc. because it is a manual for maintenance. We should rebuild a good part of it.

I add that unfortunately, for what is my previous experience (bancad in primis...) it is almost impossible that a "virtual" group manages to be united and on the piece for all the time that would serve for a project like this made for pastime.
paradoxically they are titanic enterprises much more feasible to the single.

I totally agree with you.
In fact, the advantage of those who made the 500 engine is that they chose a widely available subject. you could try something similar for another product "mass" as for example was the engine of the wasp (which in parentheses has an aviation ascendant) and which is easily available everywhere.
In short, if we want to "assemble" a complex mechanical system, taking each of us a "work rate", we choose something not too complicated and easily available.
