Save work from a month in a design studio, today the customer asked me a quick analysis at the fem.
Unfortunately in the office we are currently only in two, all the other and more experts are at other customers, so I made myself explain quickly how we usually do, but I met some difficulties.
the procedure that have explained to me is:
- upload the step file to solid edge
- start the design space module
- import the model.
the structure to import is a welded frame, I asked if it was convenient to save through solidedge the step file as welded together and then import it into the design space module, so avoid imposing all contacts.
Moreover I was told that being a tubular frame would be better to simplify the structure by removing the fittings, I fear that besides being a somewhat laborious work both counterproductive for the formation of the lattice and finally I asked if for an analysis of the structure, assuming that the welds hold, can it be convenient to turn the frame into a single part?
thanks for the availability.
