Hello everyone,
I am designing a completely plastic wheel, made of two specular parts that mate, and at the ends of the central hole there will be on each side a joke, such that once you join the two parts, will be set of always plastic rollers, which will go directly to contact with the tree.
I am looking for material to be able to size them:
1. the diameter of the rollers (I know the length that is equal to the total length of the two coupled parts)
2. the number of rollers
3. evaluate whether to create a caged housing, or simply leave them free in a circular crown.

I only have a university book of mechanics, but it deals with ball bearings or rollers, always assuming steel, for roller bearings I have nothing!
Can you help me? !

Thank you!

Oh, my God, it usually refers to catalogues but I think the bearings are your work! It's very complicated to design bearings

Hello, cat,
plastic bearings already exist, see skf and igus but also they have explicitly indicated that the calculation formulas to be used are different from those of conventional steel bearings. is a new technology and only through experimentation can determine the duration. you can invent something but it is always empirical.

exact, there are too many factors to consider: wear, heating, dilation etc.. a real casino

Wow!
I have no choice, here I have to do myself a seat in the wheel hole, and insert plastic rollers (to see what material).
the wheel that will be used in "heavy" moving trolleys, should not require too much precision or duration in terms of life cycles.

I'm still getting some ideas to make everything plastic...we're hoping functions!!!

if you happen technical material subject to it is well accepted!
thanks in the meantime for the tips!!!

They finally put the predictor for plastic cux. two months ago there was nothing
