good morning to all, I would like to buy a pc on which to use solidworks 2023 and I thought to a victus hp for the price quality ratio, a small doubt that comes to me is tied to the compatibility of the video card a rtx 4060, I take the configuration to know what you think:

monitor 15,6"
intel® core i7 13700h
nvidia geforce rtx 4060 8gb dedicated
ram 16 gb
hdd 512 gb ssd

thanks for the advice

does not cost much less than a firefly, which is certified. Are you sure you don't have to take the latter?

ok, found are always hp, but to take a pc with nvidia xi want 1800€, against 1200 of the victus
I took a new online just 2-3 months ago and paid it just over 1500. with 32 gb of ram, 1 tb of ssd. considers that the quality of these workstations is good, it is not comparable to normal consumer laptops. on ebay I had found one on the 1000 euros, with cpu gen 12.
with geforce solidworks normally works, but you don't have the certainty and the time it starts to trouble you becomes a calvary.

look now, I did a search on findsprices and start from 1060 euros for the 14", amd version with 32 gb + 1 tb. at 1110 you find the truthful intel with nvidia rtx.

14" you can't work hahaha, what you took at 1500 what model is it? What I saw is this:

hp zbook firefly g10 workstation con wolf pro security edition

the thing that leaves me perplexed is the video card, it seems less powerful than the rtx4060 and above all it is a radeon ati and I until now I have always used nvidea, moreover it does not have the numerical keyboard (this does not drive me crazy, but I could solve with an external keyboard). you bought this model? How are you in case? Thanks again. However, the problem is 14." ...

boh! I remain a little puzzled because I even with a 15" or 15,6" would be able to work well in fact as transportable I have a 17" and moreover flanked by two 27".
if your problem is the video card surely the 4060 is more powerful but not certified regarding the amd 780m in its category is an excellent card and is certified.
the fireflly I took it for its versatility (powerful and compact) but always flanked with larger monitors.

grazie
au Your emails , I agree with the monitor, to drawers not podium put a fixed x this I looked at something around 16", but on the workstation series it goes up too much price! Well, I'll be right up and see you.

I took it on the site eprice.it from the seller best type of roma. I attach a captured image now. the board is a nvidia and the cpu intel. the pc is very good, compatibly with its price band (it is not an extreme workstation).

If I can use larger monitors, but I often work in mobility and also thanks to the less distance from the monitor, with the 15/16 I don't work badly, indeed... of 17 I have had so many, too bulky and heavy, I have a 14 that actually makes me pull too much view. 15-16 is the right compromise for me.

Do you have to take it new or can you think of a used end leasing (including ssd update)?

everyone makes his choices... but the processors of the last generations both of intel and amd have made giant steps and I a used of 3 previous generations would not even consider it.
I have a hp zbook 17 g5 which was the maximum, cost almost 5k 4 years ago (if not erro). the new firefly is faster, while being extremely lighter, less energetic.

the choice must be made according to the destination of use and the budget... keeping in mind that in order to avoid instability situations it is necessary to turn to the market of workstations (mobile or fixed).
