I took a new online just 2-3 months ago and paid it just over 1500. with 32 gb of ram, 1 tb of ssd. considers that the quality of these workstations is good, it is not comparable to normal consumer laptops. on ebay I had found one on the 1000 euros, with cpu gen 12.
with geforce solidworks normally works, but you don't have the certainty and the time it starts to trouble you becomes a calvary.
 
look now, I did a search on findsprices and start from 1060 euros for the 14", amd version with 32 gb + 1 tb. at 1110 you find the truthful intel with nvidia rtx.

I took it on the site eprice.it from the seller best type of roma. I attach a captured image now. the board is a nvidia and the cpu intel. the pc is very good, compatibly with its price band (it is not an extreme workstation).

If I can use larger monitors, but I often work in mobility and also thanks to the less distance from the monitor, with the 15/16 I don't work badly, indeed... of 17 I have had so many, too bulky and heavy, I have a 14 that actually makes me pull too much view. 15-16 is the right compromise for me.

I have a hp zbook 17 g5 which was the maximum, cost almost 5k 4 years ago (if not erro). the new firefly is faster, while being extremely lighter, less energetic.
