problem at the opening of catia

working with various projects simultaneously happens that different parts have the same numbering, and this creates conflict and problems as caia keeps the memory even after switched off.
how can you reset your memory to shutdown so that when you restart the list in the start menu you remain empty? I'd like every reboot to be "wives"! !

the numbering problem solves it only if you have the associated pdm, or you type the instance descriptive.
for the latter case I recommend you to activate under the path tools\options\infrastucture\partinfrastructure in the table "document" activates the option "view window new part" and equivalently the tools\options\infrastucture\product structure in the table "product structure" activates the entry "Manual".
By activating the two options you can enter the file name before saving, this also allows you to assign the name of the instance identical to the file name and then "univoca".
is the latter that creates confilitto, in fact you will never be able to load two files in the same product that have the same name of instance.
at any time you can assign the name to instances through the command I select a part with a dx key and choose "properties" from the pump-up menu (both in part environment and in product environment).
I losemalemte prefer to assign the same name to both the file and the instance we make for example the case of two screws of different length, both will have a file name that distinguishes them though as an instance I check the simple name screw, and this then they are placed in a same together, will generate the conflict of the name of the instances (two files with different name but same instance).
automatic solution is only pdm.

I think you're complicating your life.
the approach you have to have is, that every object you create must have its own file name. If you use two objects that have the same name, it means that it is the same object.

in catia you can reuse the same object several times in deferred projects (e.g. the same screw in multiple projects).

in case you transfer your files you just run the cpmando "file\invia a\cartella" and transfer everything to a new location of the disk.

You see, I made a big mess at first.
I'm going to explain!

I did a decently big project appointing the various part and product, with multiple annihilations.
Afterwards I thought of making a variant to this project.
So what did I do?
I copied, from window, the project folder (pro progress1 ) to another folder (pro 2 ) and I made all the changes on prog2 that came to mind. In the end I was misfortunely aware that the changes made had modified also prog1, so that the original was lost.
Luckily I saved on cd prog1 and so I could recover it.
but reloading prog1 I lost prog2. Fortunately I had made copies on cd of prog2.
At this point I have two cds with prog1 and prog2, but I can not have both of them at the same time, and also opening one or the other there is a mixture because catia remembers the last files opened, also reopening a new caia session.
this does not happen if you reinstall caia, because then part virgin.

If I manage to zero the cat's memory I could start a session and load prog1.......close the session...... reopen the session and load prog2.

it would have been sufficent to make files \nuovo starting from the global axieme (or boards of the global axieme, asking to rename all the parts) from one of the two cds you would have had the name of the files with a apex of the xxx_1 type at this point you had no more probelemi, and you could have merge the two projects with the common parts.

If you had a lot of boards, you should have started this last time.

I don't know what problems you still have, but the procedure to be done in my opinion was this.

the advice that I give you and life to put tampering setting, do only casino, get used to working as if you have a pdm that controls your work, 1 name for every object you create (always), you will see that you do not fall into error anymore.

So.... I uploaded the folder to the pc, I did new to, pointing the pattern.
catia uploaded everything by appointing the xxx_1 file and displayed the model
I saved by name and the error appeared.
in the new folder only 60 files (part and product) are saved instead of 460.

if you point a part opens a window where a new part number is proposed (or instance) : old part number_1 (can be changed)


Confirming ok is created and displayed a new part that will have the new part number and file name as set in the mask above.
save by name will save by default with the new file name = part number.

if you point to a product you will open the following window



moves under what you want to duplicate with the command
in the first colon the instance or number part that is not modified and is mistakenly called file name instead of number part
in the last column the old filename_1 with which the file will be saved
“rename document” at the bottom right is not active. then you can not change the file name to pleasure
this is an inconsistency of behavior since a part treated by itself will have number equal and new files to pleasure, instead a part treated inside and together with a product will have number old part and name new file.
