problem with deform 3d. . .

premise: it is the first time I mention myself in a project that concerns the design of a biella (compito given me by the professors of mechanical engineering)... being engineering student, future engineer (spero):smile:, the professors have thought well to give me a fem program called deform 3d without explaining the operation of the same.. .
the problem is as follows:
After importing matrice and biella punch, in the program, having meshato the biella, I have to align the three objects to start the simulation. ...
Here's the drama...
to align the three objects I can not. . .
Now I ask everyone:what can you use this blessed program and give me help to align these objects and start the simulation? ......

I don't know the software, but there's no guide?
I would say that the correct approach is:
- I study the software, I read the manuals, the help online, I do some tutorials and then I start.
the approach "beginning immediately with the problem to be solved is wrong".
If you have no experience first studied the problem and then apply what you studied, that's how you become engineers!
the forum was born to help but not to do the jobs instead of others.

Maybe with this screen I can better clarify the situation. ...
in the window objcet positioning there are various options:
-mouse driven -- allows to move objects manually;
-drop -- with this command I can bring in contact the three objects, but not align them, only bring them in contact;
-offset -- select how much I can move an object(e.g.biella) to a carrier or to two points;
-interference --- allows me to bring in contact with interference(the interference volume concept is specified a priori)two objects.. .

It is clear that alignment cannot be done manually by choosing the mouse-driven option....
So if someone has ever used this program and can help me. .

I solved... ..the problem was in the objects that were punzone and matrix that had the dies blurred, so it was not possible to align them. . .
they provided us with the wrong objects... well patience.. .

- in the simulation does not run the number of steps that I set up in the step tab of simulation control, but always stays in step -1, how come?​

I apologize to you for the retard but I had problems with the adsl (as normally happens). .
Anyway:
- As for the first problem you didn't do the inter-object, which serves the program to establish friction based if you are running the cold process hot etc...cmw you place screens so you understand better

error screen coming out to you:

after you have to go where it is circled in red and click:

Then a window will open, and click yes...
After you will open a new window at the bottom right, and you will need to click on edit....
once you clicked on edit opens a new window, i.e.:
open the drop-down menu (red)


in the drop-down menu you will find the various temperatures you are working at:
cold forming for steel
warming
hot forming (lubrificated and dry)
aluminium

then choose what you need and click close

Then you will return to the previous window and, at the end of the edit key, you will need to click on the aply to other relation button (to apply the friction coefficient you chose)...after the generated button and the initialze button. . .

finally click on ok and the game is made
you can now generate the database...:finger:
