problems during the sketch phase in the environment product catia v5

Hello.

I am a designer for more or less 6 months and use the v5 catia. during this time I had so many problems, one of which I think relevant. I'll explain better. I have a product with so many parts, if I activate myself in one of these and create a sketch, I theoretically could give constraints with geometries of other parts. and it is so! only that often and willingly when I go to give these references, it does not give them to me, almost as if the part to which I referred did not exist! I have spent so much time understanding why or the logic of this fact... but I have not succeeded: mad: someone can tell me at least why...? thanks for the attention :smile:

Your problem can be related to "desing in contest"

If you have a lot of sub-assistances, you have to structure everything with crtriae tied to contexts.

go to tools/options/infrastructure/partinfrastructure and activate the item "conserve connection with the selected object" you will see that when changing the molded parts in context will keep the relationships.

I bet that voice. but the problem is that it doesn't keep me the bonds between births... I try to explain better... I do an es:
I have a product with three parts.
I act on one of three and make a sketch;
now to make the geometry that I want, I have to give constraints to lines, points, curves, etc. with geometries of other parts;
So I select for example my line, the edge to which I want my line to be perpendicular (for example) and open the window of the constraints but...if I give the constraints regarding a body of the part 1 I give them, but if I give them respect to a body of the other part nn me give them (nomes taken randomly)...any as if the part did not exist! (of course they are in design mode!) ;
and not only! It doesn't even make me project a geometry of that part on my sketch plane!

If you want to try cmq it is like this:

the catsettings folder is under c:\documents and settings\(your username)\application date\dassaultsystemes

make a copy of the catsettings folder call it bckcatsettings............... and then delete the catsettings folder.
start caia, which will automatically create the catsettings folder and then try to do the sketch from catproduct etc. .
If it works, it means that catsettings have been messed up and then you have to hand-reserve all the things you had done in catsettings (if you had modified it).

If it doesn't work... o cmq you want to go back to having everything as before, go back to the catsettings folder catsettings gates and take the folder
bckcatsettings and rhinos in catsettings............ .

Of course all the copies and deletion of the casetting are to be done to the dead end.
