You know, don't screw me if there's something like me10 running the parts. I tried to use the old me10 of 2006 but I found myself badly because many things are a little difficult. the restraints are missing, and other functions that in autocad are faster thanks

If you are looking for a cad 2d that manages the parts together the two main ones that do this and that I know are:
- automatic mechanical
-creo modeling express that maybe you can download also from the website www.ptc.com

hello thank you answer, then I have the mechanical 2008 but did not satisfy them because if nobody uses the "components" of the mechanical then it is useless, I 10 would need the 2d, but the files that give me are in dwg would be nice a cad that opens and manages like me10 the parts. I explain better, the drawings that give me are converted from me10 to dwg so the parts of me10 become very nested blocks often touches me to change them and the autocad method does not satisfy me, it would be nice if autocad turned the blocks type into parts....

if you pass the converted files you definitely lose information so it would be best to always give you the native format with which the design was made and possibly explain to users how to manage the components / parts.

I know, but they use an autocad that has few functions so I think I stay as before. Anyway to work with the multitude of blocks that I have me10 handles them as parts and all right, I should try the trial version of the 2d maybe they have improved it

I'm sorry the question maybe banal, but why if your customers use autocad you can't use mechanical? if your problem is that they do not see the "standardized" explode them at the end of your work.

I tried me10 and it seems to me better manage the blocks (parts) and even in the snaps is smarter. ....

the natural successor of me10 is ptc creo elements/direct drafting (which is the same software 'dressed' by ptc). use for years and though it has not had an eclatating evolution has always benefited every new release of some significant improvement, even in the import/export functions of files.

If you haven't tried the latest version yet, v.18, it could be your case.
Moreover with a good toolbar layout and a simple wacom bamboo graphics tablet, it becomes really productive (at least for my everyday reality). Many seemingly missing functions exist, but unfortunately they are not exposed in the interface.

How did you configure this?
the problem that to try the free version and no longer exists or is it wrong? the direct drafting of the ptc do not find it on the site....

apart from what to use the tablet in the technical drawing is not uncomfortable?

Look, it's a boring but simple thing:wink:
you must start drafting with the windows-style interface (me10.exe -pelook 2).

you can see from the screen that I attach: customize the layout by creating the toolsbars that seem more necessary to you. then go pop them with the commands you want, dragging them from the list. some already have an icon, others do not have it or the icon is very ugly (personally, I made bmp icons borrowing them from thinkdesign that has more inuitive ).

you can also create new elements, then modifying the fields. the possibilities are immense, if you consider all the commands listed in the reference guide with their various parameters. for example for commands iron, move, etc.: dx key choose the elements then move, right-click vice versa.
other example: I have made icons that open the prefixes, suffixes and tolerances of more common use: left button is set, dx button only adds to a selected quota.

at the end of the work, with the menu item "Save toolbars..." store everything in a .m file that can be input into the customize (also to avoid accidental variations of the layout).

At this point, you can 'fill' the edges of the work area with toolbar containing the icons you use most frequently. the use of a tablet allows you to click them immediately and quickly. to the buttons on the wacom pen you can for example assign 'right key' and 'cancella'.

there are consulting companies that offer packages with these customizations, for example by intervening on the context menu (set dx on element), but I did not like these solutions much: I prefer a very 'vertical' configuration to the needs of the technical office but especially agreed and shared with other colleagues.

I hope I haven't confused your ideas, but I still invite you to try:

Good Sunday!

the software page here: ptc creo elements/direct drafting.
Unfortunately I don't find a demo to download, but whatever dealer I think has no problem getting it. when it was cocreate there was the freely downloadable trial:frown:

for the tablet, goes to personal tastes and habits; to me it is convenient because it is fast, the grip is more ergonomic and avoided many clicks with the mouse (and the carpal tunnel thanks).

I'm sorry I couldn't help you :frown:
I don't have a v.16 installed to try to reproduce the error. I can tell you that this problem never happened to me, maybe I've never had a chance to make it emerge.

I confirm that the page on the ptc site does not offer a downloadable demo; I think you could contact a dealer who might show you a demo and maybe leave you a trial license of one or two weeks.

Bye!

ok thanks again of the support! Anyway, I installed the service packs and nothing. Also on view it crashes I also have win xp sp3 as well so pè a bug. I needed to add a command made by me. so that every time I want for example a green line click on the green icon and I change the line. to add a new icon with command the only way is that? I only have the possibility to edit existing commands though.

Sorry to clarify better I just want to add an item to the toolbar but right out of the program, if there is another way... .

I think you could try to create a new key through a small macro. to make an example you can edit a .m file that when loaded creates a new toolbar with a 'try' button that if pressed with the left button opens the selection window, with the dx the quotation preview:
define_encoding 'utf-8'
toolbar del_old 'tlb_prova' caption 'prova' end
toolbar_item over_write 'btn_wui_select' caption 'prova' tooltip '(sx) selezione ; (dx) anteprima quote' on_action 'wui_select' on_right_click 'da_style_win_create'
add_to_toolbar 1 end
toolbar caption 'prova' dock right 8 1 616 end
toolbar_show caption end
toolbar_layout refresh end
