Hello, everyone. .
we have just updated solidworks at release 2019, only that the 4 stations are very slow compared to 2018.
I have noticed by chance that if you use only a post this problem does not happen, or rather, it seems very reduced...
I don't know if there's anything to do with the fact of using only one, and if that's just a feeling or not, but maybe there's something to set up.
Can someone help me?

thanks in advance. .

Hi.
have you exported the settings from sdw 2018 to sdw2019?
the slowdown you notice is more graphical or general (loading, updating. . . )

Hello todos,
I with sw 2017/2018/2019 can't work... . impossible to work in top down with guide skeleton, every reconstruction stops even 20 minutes.
I tried to build the assemblies differently (without ties between the parts) , the assemblies improve but, with already 2k components the boards are impossible to manage... or better, until there are max 4/5 views, all right, as soon as you add sections, details etc... work becomes improbable.
in the office we also work with inventor and pro-e and , with much heavier structures the problems are zero
I don't understand. I hope someone has some advice.
Hi.

Just that in google write "improve solidworks performance" and you will appear different links as This is. in all cases it is already known from multi-year releases that solidworks has a breakdown of performance with the great assemblies, and that in this case inventor and pro/e take over in terms of speed and stability. so I don't think that you don't use your budget for the acquiasto of a more powerful pc, don't believe that there are tips that allow you to solve the problem. But it's not the case of filing against solidworks, believe me. inventor still dreams of the power of solidworks in shaping very complex parts and skillfully managing the solid/superficial coupling, while if you had used pro/e you would still be half project with just half the molded parts. keep in mind that dss has never hidden that solidworks is a proposed solution keeping in mind certain limits that characterize the small and medium industry, where this usually exists a number of components in the non-excessive axieme. If you want to go further, their proposal goes on casket, but with much higher costs. This is why, for example, boeing does not use solidworks, and not even inventors, much less pro/e;)

There are two "trucks" that I have played in the case of challenging drawings.
1 set the views on which you do not work in shady mode without borders.
2 hide the views on which you do not work.
They do not revolutionize speed, but they improve it.

I assume that the hidden lines and selection of them are deactivated until the end of the table, if you do not do not complain of the slowness

Hi.
work only in top down with guide skeleton. I agree that at each version there is a slowdown that serves to have unnecessary graphical frills. But today, I work there. the password is simplification. in the case of the tables it is necessary to simplify first of all the geometry. I'll give you an example. If you have a rectangular tube designed as you must, you will find 18 faces to solve, 10 are flat and 8 cylindrical. if you use a light configuration with a full parallelepiped without fittings you only have 6 flat faces... and it is also easier to quote on the table, because you cannot miss edge. extremize this concept and you will find the square. Obviously he also listens to the other tips above, there is no setting that radically changes things, they are so many small drops that fill the pot.

Hello everyone
I've been trying to find the square with sw for years, but it's impossible. . .I agree that it has solutions that allow to speed up the work not little (inventor and I create do not even know what they are) however, now I am planning a leavening cell of about 70m x 10 x 9 with inventor I have no problems except the loading times. with sw I made a small ribbon of which I am now unable to make the tables and not even make small changes.

.... provided that I am using all the recommended methods to lighten files and go faster but they are all palliative. ...when you get to a certain level of complexity, without pre-awakening, it blocks everything (and I'm sure the pc doesn't matter)
If it is true that dss himself says that sw is not suitable for complex systems.... then I will call very gladly the so-called Mr. ca...., which ensures that sw goes well for all situations, also showing videos with giant industrial plants that go to meraveiglia... all a hold for the c....
thanks to all for advice
Good day

I don't want to go into the specifics of what you're modeling, but I think there's some problem to solve. Of course the table has always been slow with models of great size and complexity, but that we cannot work sincerely I think it is excessive. in my experience (civil engineering) with models of many thousands of components and dimensions outside the standard x which was born sw, some waiting I have to endure but in the end I do everything without big problems. I still work with 2017 and have not passed to the later versions just x that I now know the working time and do not want to meet more bottlenecks. the ds has stated that the speed of the putting into the table has been greatly implemented with 2020...you will be false, will be fergusson!?!! a while ago I created a discussion here on the forum just to evaluate the actual improvements and not the versions of sw, but the discussion died before starting!

You're talking about abstract things. if strudeldimele if you hear it can share a complex part file or attach an image of an overall at least you know what it is talking about.
a long time ago there was a user complaining that he could not model a perforated sheet because he blocked the pc; he had made a repetition of hundreds of holes inside the sketch. done repetitions with functions csi problem is solved
I'm not saying that apple strudel can't shape, but we don't know anything about what she's talking about.
so far only complaints, understandable, without an objective data. attaches the performance analysis data of a set for example

to make a concrete example I attach a couple of pictures of a frame in the environment part
the frame consists of 55 imported bodies on which numerous processing for a total of 48mb
Image 1: Automatic update of disabled views and in the environment part frozen functions
image2: automatic update of deactivated views and in environment part unfrozen functions

each sheet contains the views of a part of the frame, to do this I created a configuration by sheet where, through the delete body function, I kept only the bodies concerned.

Of course, massive knowledge of what we are talking about would be better. I believe that there may be problems not of modeling but of "informatics" in the broad sense of the term. for example problems born after various updates ect. ect.

I can also confirm everything depends on the workstation you use, I took a new computer just 4 months ago, a assembled, with very high features.
while before, at the end of project the coughing pc, now flying like a hunt, I almost seem to work with the 2d autocad of 15 years ago...not joke!!! then if as you were advised "simplify", lower the times further. Going fast you also set aside resources to change the pc after a few years and stay in the wave crest.

...you're right. ..I'll see to pass you something as an example and, maybe, do a couple of tests.. .
Unfortunately, as you can see, I have little time and I am even more distracted... if I put a few days, please take patience.
Thank you.
