solidworks in architectural field

Bye to all,

I haven't written for a while and the majority of the arguments I raised dealt with the management of the drawings (slowness) of the great assemblies.

This time I would like to talk about drawings of great assemblies but in the architectural field.

I'll explain. .

work in a company that develops employable elements in architectural field such as folded sheets, steel structures, aluminum, glass etc etc.

many of these components have developed them with design criteria based on solidworks.

which means, as we know, being able to obtain quickly and automatically brochures, sections and assonometers all subject to continuous and automated updating to every design variation.

Now, probably mainly because of the difficulty of editing the dwg generated by solidworks, I look tired because I sincerely lost the habit of drawing exclusively in autocad (I intend to totally develop a project maybe even small) and especially my brain struggles to accept to manually update all the orthogonal views and sections of a project or its components whenever it is necessary to carry out a small change.

I'm being challenged.

I would like to know if something like this has already happened to you.

thanks to all

we work historically in 2d with me10...some in autocad 2d and very in solidworks.
sincerely in the technical office we have 12 people and each reacts differently even of different ages.
many take the 2d throw it as a sketch in solidworks and make us the new part.
something and someone still changes whole projects in 2d.
the company needs little expense and high yield, and a mixed office covers the deficits of use of various programs.

very interesting.

and can you work in teams on a same project without getting angry while using different platforms?

generally we can interface to something common that can be in 2d or a 3d comparison reconstruction.
generally you manage independent from software.
I for example model solid gears with solidworks and put them in 2d to import them in autocad or similar to mount and adapt on dwg crates and it's fine, just be careful to update everything you need.

@meccanicamg in the light of what you wrote I feel to add that it would be very nice to be able to export to dwg from solidworks so that each set was a nested block (exactly as it happens when you carry a step from solidworks and amounts it in autocad 3d) and not with all those thousands of independent entities (by understanding the edges of especially entities) that generates not few editing problems.

on the subject of the blocks has been discussed in the past.
a solution, if I don't remember badly, was to assign to each component of the design a level so that exporting is then isolated and can be created, in autocad, of the blocks.
the thing is not automatic and requires work in autocad, but it helps a lot.

I found a couple of discussionshttps://www.cad3d.it/forum1/threads...i-come-blocchi-o-livelli-diversi.20176/page-2https://www.cad3d.it/forum1/threads/esportare-dwg-e-creare-blocchi.28970/http://www.cad3d.it/forum1/threads/convertire-tavola-solidworks-in-dwg.41683/
