with the new version of acrobat ( x) the plugin for creating pdf 3d files has been removed (ref.: http://www.deelip.com/?p=3845 ). technology has been ceded to a third company, the tetra4d that now sells the plugin, alone or bundled with acrobat pro.

pdf 3d files do not contain geometry but only visualization faces, so it is not possible to create iges (existes yet ?) and step.

It's a very old discussion. when it was opened solid edge was unable to save in pdf format.

I'd rather save the file in parasolid and do it with solidworks.

It didn't produce any output, perhaps because the models were very complex, both for many and for the bad quality of some components, or it's a license problem: Maybe on the d&d the command is disabled, but no relative warning is provided so I don't think that's the problem.
