Good morning, everyone.
I would like to make a mold (negative and positive) of a surface.
I tried so, but it didn't work out:
given my surface, I create a parallelepipedo. I leave my surface slightly higher so you can perform boolean subtraction.
cut with a curve the solid obtained but...
The parallelepiped, in its interior, seems empty.. .
to be clearer allego files where you go highlighted the processes. I hope it's clear. What should I do?

You don't understand much, and the images are not helpful. Anyway... .
rhino is a surface modeler, you do not have a parallelepiped, but the six faces that make it. make a boolean subtraction between two surfaces, the result... is not there.

I don't even understand what you have to do, but to get the negative from a positive with the surfaces, just do some untrim and retrim. . .

p.s.
rhino can also work with solids, but I never used it in that sense.

Yes, it is true, the images make c...re! !
the concept is this:
I would like to make the mold of a sole of shoes that I am planning using the command "crea solid".
Once the sole is made, I would like to create the negative to be able to use as a mold.
my idea was to create a solid and with boolean subtraction, recreate the negative shape, create a cutting line between top and bottom...but, ahimè... I did wrong something.
Any of you have experience?
Could indicate step by step...
Hi.

you would like to make a box inside it has a cavity that would be your sole... .
this rhino cannot do it because the solids for him are empty: perfectly combined surfaces in an airtight way.

what you want to do can but in a diferent way: create 2 solids, one for the matrix and one for the punch and then to these you will subtract the sole by making it connect to your division line

hi, if I understand correctly, first I make the base (stampo and counterstampom: solid cut length a curve?) and to this subraggo the sole.

That's right. .
build the parallelepiped containing the sole; individuals the closing line of the mold (exlonging it from the two parts) and with this cuts in two horizontally the parallelepiped.(front view); distance up the top and use the same line to extrude the surface that will close the bottom of the solid (now are open boxes); trim the excess parts of this surface and cover the same to close the other "box" then use the "crea solid" command for both.
Now you can booleanly subtract the sole from the bottom solid, but first you have to copy it upward to the same distance of the upper solid, in order to obtain, always with boolean subtraction the lime of the upper part of the sole.
I hope it's clear.
Naturally, for a functional mold you will have to take into account the withdrawals and waste.

everything, or almost clear, in this way I managed to create my mold.. .
thanks for the advice
