Bye to all,

I'm new to the forum and apologize in advance if I don't write in the right section.

I am a naval engineer but in agreement with other people I am planning a container (which naval has very little if not the fact that I go on board the ships).
the design I made it with microstation, but now I would like a council from you, having to dimension the structures of the container knowing the loads agents on the same, to which software I could entrust myself keeping in mind that:

1) I am completely dry with structural dimensioning, I usually deal with naval architecture, so I would like an easy to understand software that can import microstation files.

2) I'm not familiar with the fem analysis and what else.

in the forum I read dozens of software and previously had advised me ansys but then I knew it was pretty hostical.

What do you say you can help me?

that I know there are no software that make structural dimensioning.

there are software that help to make the sizing accounts for the technician who knows what he is doing.

the fem is for the engineer what the calculator is for the accountant. and I with the calculator in hand are not able to make a balance.

I didn't say I wanted a program you work for me! I said of a software easy to understand and learn quickly, for the rest not comment since not everyone uses the fem and that the accountants now use the pc.

You could try to be a little nicer.

So kind, I gave you great advice, trust me.

If you have no idea how to calculate a structure, leave the programs alone, those only serve to give the figures after the comma.

Anyway, sorry for the intromission.

You can use the cat's fem module, simple, quick, effective, and... with the results packed 80% of the time, unless you know exactly what you're doing, what you're modeling, and with what approximations.

other suggestion could be to refer to the norms on the container. You ever want me to do all the perfect bills and then you get a complaint because the structure is outlawed?

Happy birthday.

In fact, I wonder why he came into this discussion.

I registered to ask for advice and I find myself having to discuss with someone who seems to have the truth in his pocket.

"the rules on the container" but as I did not think about it.. I should have thanked you then.

close this discussion I'm not used to losing time

I don't think it was rude or unbearable, and I can assure you that what he says you can believe.
It only recommended that you not trust any analysis software especially if you do not know how to use it perfectly.
they are certainly a valid support but do not replace a proper procedure, if they never integrate it.
So... calm, chamomile and try to stay in the terms provided by the forum that are mainly those of education and respect for those who put their knowledge at their disposal.

1. bè the container does not require particular technical qualities and with the base of nautical (which I imagine is in part wood and part steel) you should not have problems; important is to remember that it must be suitable to hold the load of at least a dozen other containers

2. the fem actually requires considerable attention: I find myself quite well with autodesk simulation multiphysics 2013 but it is definitely not the best however enjoys excellent compatibility with autodesk

sincerely then the container is a very standardized tool ... sure that you agree to look for it already beautiful than ready?

Hi.

Hi, mir,

finally a pertinent answer with what initially asked.

Thank you very much

What is the suggestion that seems relevant to you? use simulation multiphysics or look for beautiful and ready container?

I hope the second, man... I in the container send us million euros of machinery around the world...you ever want that at that point the mesh was not quite dense... :hahahah:

All right, but then you want to throw them down? ! ?
It's about saying you broke the boxes.
