Good morning.

in a university exercise I am asked to calculate the safety coefficient of the structure with ansys 18.2 (mechanical apdl).
Immagine.webpbut being only the second exercise, I had no big problems. However I have 3 doubts:

1. to which element correspond the rods that work from dots and tyrants? the prof. said that in ansys 12.1 its element is link8, but not found in ansys 18.2. Since they are not exercises to be delivered but only training, in order to move forward I chose the element with the most similar name, i.e. link11, which however has nothing to do with it of course.

2. why the constraints related to cart and skate are on ux, uz and roty for the cart and on ux, roty and rotz for the skate? on the other constraints (an interlock and, as an internal bond between the beams hea 300 and hea 200, a spherical snout) is all clear to me.

3. what is the procedure to have the value of the maximum effort, so that it can compare it with the effort to yield so as to calculate what is required? surely will be in general postproc, but I do not understand the next steps.

thank you if someone can answer me even to one of my doubts.
