thanks to the post, I looked at the wf4 guide, but the procedure seems rather twisted (at least for me I arrive from the more "simple" cads).

for your question... what do you mean, the thread cosmetic?
If so, in the case of the hole the fillet surface is the cylindrical surface of the pre-light and the initial surface is the plane from which the thread begins.
in the case of a pin, the thread surface is the cylindrical surface of the pin itself, the initial surface is as for the hole (starting plan of the thread).
