according to your direct experiences, what is the spread of this software in Italy? and in this forum who uses it?

I use it. I find it good, but I use it as "integration" of other software, i.e. I make some pretty simple pieces that then merge into other simulation software.

I also began as an integration to another cad, then slowly I started using it more and more, and now I use only alibre. mainly use to draw not very complex mechanical parts, and assembling with up to 10-20 components.

I bought the standard version last year after trying for a while that express. I use it mainly for the construction of equipment and alongside featurecam for collision control in the simulation of tool paths. for the simple use that I do I have to say that it is a valid product and also quite easy to learn.

I also started using it occasionally, along with other cads. I have to say that I feel good about it, use it to design industrial equipment.
In my personal experience I have not yet met companies that used this software in the complete realization of the products.

I have used mainly pro-e, now use alibre design as I have made buy a license to the company I am collaborating with.
from the point of view of intuition and practicality is great, certain that when models begin to become complex they are pains; sometimes the files get corrupted and become unusable, then there are problems with distinct bases.
Moreover, if I leave the file open for a long time without working on it, the software stops and you have to finish the process and restart everything.
It is a shame that he has these sins, because I repeat, it is extremely intuitive and also economic. If these problems are resolved, it can be said to be great.

hi giosafat, do you send us some details to replicate the problems that you complain and help you solve them? ideal would be a file and step-by-step instructions to replicate the problem. in our installations with the 2011 build 59 version we do not encounter the problems you indicate, and we are curious to replicate them to understand what their origins are. most functionalities interesting of the expert version of alibre are not available in the downloadable demo version, which makes a complete evaluation of the product difficult.

I would like to know if multiple configurations have equivalent functions to the families of parts and assembled of solidedge/solidworks, and if the alibremotion module included in the package is able to manage assembled of a certain complexity (say a few hundred components); also, alibrevault... is it just a gadget or is it really a pdm?

In short, to read the specific alibre expert provides a complete working environment with the only flaw to have to buy separately the femdesigner, but in practice I would like to know if there is someone who really manages to do their job using only alibre expert without relying on other cads, for the realization (drawing, assembly, verification and documentation) of mechanical projects of medium complexity (some hundred compoenents).
