as stated on the download page collects anonymous information and so I did not download it

2) stp-viewer
10 mbytes to download, does not require registration and works.
unique problem: opens only the step files

3)ida-step
requires the dot-net framework and therefore not being written in native c++ is very slow. I didn't dump him.

cad exchanger is in beta version and is free until they officially release it.
Then you will have to pay to use it if you download the released versions.

Since the period we are crossing and the smart working I was looking for free software to view attachments in emails without opening the cad.
at work I have 3d-tool for a fee and it is really good, but on the pc of the house I was looking for it just free.
Do you have any updates/reports about this?
I'm downloading gom inspection to prove it and I'll let you know.

what formats do you need to open?
for the steps and iges there is freecad that is completely free. qui the list of supported formats.
also there is cad assistant qui and I use it on android....gratis.

gom inspect...mah...a hardy hair.. .not just on a fly...open the program and import it step.
I would need to see the files flying from the mail..quasi always rarrati or zippati and maybe do a section on the fly.

if you have a 7zip installed open the compressed attachment from the mail and click on the step....if you have associated the program formats opens file and program together.
you can try and see if you enjoy mucho or no

ok what you say I do normally from fixed to work:
mail --> rar --> double click on step/iges associated with a program
Now I wanted to replicate all this with a free display software on the pc from home.

said this gom inspection does not make me associate the step or iges files, because he opens "projects" with its extensions and to these projects you upload the step or iges files, so I think it is a laborious fur.

tomorrow I try freecad as from your suggestion;-)
