good morning to all, would someone know how to configure a workstation to use with cad programs as inventor or solidworks?
I would like to mount it myself by buying the individual components.

but what motherboard? are undecided on two builders but the models did not identify them (asus and asrock)

Not with that processor. He can handle 32gb, but I think you're hardly needing more for solidworks.

I would go on a hp z440 workstation or one of the preicision t5810, with those arrivals to 256 gb of installable ram. with a xeon e5-1630 v3 go well.
I have a z440 with 32 gb taken from little and less bad that I made this choice, these days I often arrive at 20-25 gb of ram used in surface modeling.

depends a lot on the needs, we hardly use more than 16gb, so a machine with 32 seems to me already enough, switching to a 2011 socket machine costs a lot more, between processor, motherboard and ddr4 memory I think in the end there are at least 500 euros. if you then go to a car with xeon another 500. we use core i7 that for sw that works mainly in single thread except for the table harvests, it is fine. the cost-performance ratio is maximum. Sure that if you have other needs, type render, fea with multicore, then can be valid a machine with 64gb and a 6 core processor, as it allows a 2011 socket. for standard sw use, without these specificities, the core i7 4790 is currently the fastest processor on the market, and is also at an acceptable price. The limit to 32 gb today seems acceptable to me.
If you think about the future, I don't know if you should spend now and have a processor that is eventually slower than 4790, or make a new car when something more valid comes out.
