What are you doing specifically with the pc... large assembled, render, fem??? If you want to be quiet I suggest you configure it with the p4200 and i7 8850h and 32gb of ram to 2993mhz that at this moment is on offer with 341€ discount....poi the other upgrades of ssd nvme you make them to you that cost less.

I do not exclude rendering and assemblies not complex but you never know...
sure a laptop so you can upgrade is really great

I have an old precision and I am still well with cad but the precision is not a portable but a transportable.
My son has the xps that before this carriage at the top and there are no comparisons... It's a bomb for all the uses it does.

Actually, I'm convincing myself to take a 17" because I'm tired of a 13" (though yes) and I think a precision is higher than the xps if nothing else for the gpus that can mount. .
always that he does not return demente and take a macbook pro 15".
for those curious I made a benchmark with solidworks with my macbook pro 13" i5, 8gb, quad core, through parallels. The results are:

graphic 67.3 sec
processor 35.8 sec
i/o 34.6 sec

exact 17" is transportable but actually I never had big problems, I have a m6800 3.58kg +1kg power supply while the precise 7730 overall weighs about 1kg less than my... as a backpack I always used an everki titan and I found myself great. the xps I had it between the hands but does not hold comparison with the precision especially on long distances....fem and in the cad it loses a lot in some specific applications.

these are the results taken from https://www.solidworks.com/sw/support/shareyourscore.htm I took one randomly about half the list to be more consistent as a real result.

If you use a cad with a 13" we're really fruity! the size of the panel and the graphical resolution are fundamental to work in a profitable way.

Well if you set a 4k display go quiet even if I don't think you can notice many differences with a 4k.
more than anything else you know that if you try to configure it to the maximum it will warn you that the battery does not make it but does not give you the chance to change battery. So what? ?

I don't know if those I saw are 4k actually...
I saw the battery, but it's a little too expensive for me. . .

those 4k are the uhd. the other ful hd (fhd) and hd. on a 17" do not think known differences between 4k and fhd. But I'll let anyone know more about me.
