Hello everyone, I hope to find some pious and competent soul who can help me...
I have recommended my manager an update of workstations in ut since they are quite old, but I have to run some doubts about any compatibility issues.
currently server side we have windows 2000 servers with teamcenter 8.0, while our workstations "client" still have xp with nx7.5 and teamcenter 8.1; wanting to update workstations the question arises spontaneously:

Can I work with nx7.5 64bit and teamcenter 8.1 by starting it as a 32bit application, without touching any server side or could problems arise?

It's not that you can... you have to.
tc is not a 64-bit application...
then ok to your choice to use tc8.1 and nx7.5 (it is coming out 7.5.3... I recommend that).
but do you use a w2000 server with tc8?? Miiiii... :frown: it will be a crazy bowl... little ram... volumes and db on the same machine.. .
but tc8.x is supported by w2000?

... attention to client machines, with w7 64, which you will choose:
- at least 8 gb ram
- adequate graphics cards (fx1800 minimum... if you have large assemblies also 3800)

Then... as I told you in the other post:
- client maintenance x interface speed(see splm site)
- refile with lightweight updated
- training/metodology large assembly

Hi.
Thanks for the prompt answer.

we are already using nx7.5.2.5 since 7.5 had a lot of problems. we actually have teamcenter slowness issues and is probably due to the old server we have, cmq compatibility is because installation and configuration was made by siemens staff at the time of migration from ideas to nx.

you can give me some more info about:
- client maintenance x interface speed(see splm site)
- refile with lightweight updated

They play me a bit like Arabic:redface:

Well... 7.5.3 came out on March 22nd.
I absolutely recommend it.
I come to your questions:

- client maintenance x interface speed(see splm site)
... try to look also on cad3d... I had posted how to speed up the leash

- refile with lightweight updated
storage in 7.5 format to remake the lightweight

If you want to take stuff already old do as well:biggrin::biggrin::biggrin:
I don't want to disappoint you, but 4 months ago I took a "old" when 3400 at just 100 € and does a great service despite it's old:finger:

I tried a z800 with a fx3800, loaded on a whole car... and it was going to turn over... :finger:

I confirm, although the 3800 is more recent than the 3400 .
I took it to pair with what was already mounted, just for not having compatibility issues.
even if they are not mounted in sly because I needed to polotate 4 monitors .
In any case, I have confirmed that sometimes the last technological findings serve most of the time to fill their ego rather than actually need  not and you want

. and I have to say that the more I use 64-bit w7 and the more I am amazed by its performance. . .
Too bad that broke my "belva" and I had to re-exhume the old pc with xp... :frown:

I am considering a new ws and I accept suggestions

We'll miss you!

the problem is that I sell the hw and can't take the tabs on the internet because my suppliers no longer have production outputs cards, so if someone wants a wks I have to offer him what I have available at the moment.
It is clear that I perfectly agree that taking the latest news is not the best thing in the price/performance optics.

I took a precision laptop m6500 with 8gb ram and fx3800m card. w7 64 bit.
Unfortunately from the beginning he manifested small  problems (he turned off at a glance with a message like "your system become warmer than expected..."). I have changed cpu, motherboard, fans, updated bios, re-edited bios...
at the end of the day they change it: (given back last Monday I wait for the new one)

You have to use it in a freezer.
probably was born a little loser, then it happened in your hand and the poor man:biggrin:
I do not know why, but it gives me the impression of one that laptops fry them .

However, I intend to take a fixed replacement for the current dual opteron, which will remain as a mule

I share in full, I went to w7 both with the fixed and with the laptop. the only doubt was not to find drivers (the machines have a couple of years) but there was no problem.
performance is really amazing. . finally bill centered.

Hi.
if you allow me to mark you these I'm using
fujitsu celsius m470-2
cpu: nr1 xeon w3565
hd sas 300gb
fx4800 (which I prefer both to the new 4000 and 5000, even if it is given in phase-out)
16 gb ram
os w7 pro 64bit
with nx7+tc2007 make their beautiful figure
with nx7.5 I am using them in test and they are even better
