At first I was willing to repeat one of my old on the tablet, but I think it's the case to open a new one.
It's been a long time since I've been looking for, I've been testing, and what else do I understand in my hands to be able to fully exploit the new electronic devices that the world propanes to us
time ago I was looking on the web of the programs cad and not, in order to take notes and sketch some drawing on the fly on the tablet, all without great success because the various programs I found did not reflect my expectations at best. I was looking for something that had the same rendering of writing/drawing on paper, but so far research and evidence did not give the results hoped.
But I've been encapsulated for a month in these "smart pens" that have been around for a couple of years and I didn't know. from what I have seen are used by university students first, at least by what they advertise.
What am I (for who does not know them)? are pens that record through infrared what you write on simple paper, and then transfer to the pc how much you wrote/disegned in the form of jpg/bmp/tiff image etc. or pdf document. for the written text there are also ocr software that convert writing, many are compatible with ms office/outlook and work both on pc windows and on mac osx.
the last ones I have seen in addition to windows/apple systems are also compatible with android, so smartphones and tablets or for ipad/ipod.
on the web are found with different search names, including "smartpen" , "intellipen" , "intelligenous pen" , "digital pen" or "digital pen".
as brands there are several and range from 50-60 euros to 170-200 euros depending on the brand and characteristics (intellipen, smartscribe, staedtler, logitech, wacom). have more or less the same characteristics, that is formed by a pen and a receiver that should be placed above the blocknotes and can store up to 100 pages.
At the moment, what I could see for those we say economic is that the limit of drawings/texts is given by the fact that they are saved as an image, some also have ocr software, while the more expensive ones like wacom inkling allows to draw and save sketches and export files directly to photoshop or illustrator or on programs like autodesk sketchbook as vector graphics.
I had searched some store from my side if they had these pens, but without success, so I decided to buy one on ebay (I think that by the prox week I get from the land). I took it compatible pc/apple/android, because I was more interested in PC/android compatibility. on the market google there are free apps that manage these pens. the most interesting thing is that for smartphones or tablets the transfer is done via bluetooth.
the last step (which I have not yet found and I have no idea if esite) is to be able to manage the sketches made on paper directly with the cad, i.e. import the sketches and then manipulate them and complete them on the cad.
for the moment I close here.
