Bye to all,
I just changed pc station to office and now I have an i7-3820 3.60 ghz - 16gb ram - ssd 256gb - picture 4000.
Unfortunately for reasons of budget we have not updated the version of solidworks and reinstalled sw 2010 sp.0 with win 7 64bit.
the performance of the machine is definitely valid and the quality jump compared to a workstation of 3 years ago is seen from the simple ignition...I expected therefore to be able to design much more quickly without having to wait every time biblical times (legated to performance of the old pc not excelled and however the network connection that albeit gigabit does not make miracles when opening a complete machine from 8000/9000 components).
However there is a huge problem of slowness once you make a clik on a face.
I explain better, once loaded the machine (even without shaded view with edges) if with the sx clikko button on any face and after rough or zoom, it blocks everything and comes the classic window (solidworks does not respond).
this happens with a certain frequency so at the end of the day you lose a tide of time. .

Does anyone work in my own condition? sw2010 sp.0 on win7 64bit?

What do you recommend?

Thank you.

Hi.
probably the best thing is to upgrade to sp5.0
Does anyone know if any service packs need serials? I better explain...if a license is purchased at a time when there is only sp0, a download and a subsequent sp installation report something?

Thank you.

Hi.
I don't know what's reported, but it's not regular. if you try to install a service pack as in the case mentioned by you comes out a message that says it is in disagreement with the license agreement.

but if the license agreement falls within the period in which the sp1 was released, can this be installed?
If then I remember the update of a release with a sp does not need activation codes, should it be seen as a normal update of the software or wrong?

Unfortunately, in my case the assistance of the mother's house cannot provide me with the sp1 because there is no copy in their server, and they cannot roichieder it to the solidworks because not being in assistance would not be justified.

What do you recommend?

Thank you.

you can install the service packs out during the maintenance period. if your maintenance expired when there was sp 1 you can install it and you are in order. If you can't get the files, ask the dealer. sure that with background downloader does not update?

for background downloader do you mean verification of solidworks updates? ..if you give there is a drop-down menu that starts from the version 2013 last sp available and arrives until the release 2010 but sp 2.1 and therefore not compatible with our assistance contract. .

Unfortunately I have already requested the reseller the sp1 installation file but they have replied that in their server they do not have the 64-bit version that I need, and they cannot directly request it to solidworks because we are no longer in maintenance contract, and the request would not be justified. .

(if any sp 1 from the internet/emule can be installed according to you? )

Thank you.

Hi.

Greetings to all.
I have the same problem: maintenance contract expired in 2010, swx installed on some machines and updated until sp4, then the license expired. today it was necessary to install it on a new pc: the dvd installs me the sp0 (heavyly kissed) (and I think it is for that reason that slamdunk88 has problems) but I have no way to access the next sp via download manager. I tried to contact the mother's house, see what they say. . .

but when you do the service pack do not download the update? by default should download it in c:programs/solidworks20.. servicepack .. (vade by memory but in the case of a little mistake)
if you just start the setup of the last update.

otherwise verified in temporary file card

Hi.
If I have to be honest I can't even find the folder called service pack and in the temporary folder there is no trace of sp1 unfortunately. . .
I contacted the mother house through the authorized dealer and I was told that being out of service it is not possible to request the update. .
for what I opted for the installation of unloaded sp1, because anyway I assumed nothing happened since until I was in assistance was available download... only that I have no confirmation regarding any installation reports or request of serials. .

true (I do not remember precisely how it worked, but the service packs were first downloaded and then installed) but - for my case at least - the old installations were on xp 32 bit while now it is a windows seven to 64 bit, so I fear that the old downloads in any case serve little.
@slamdunk88: I think we talked to the same person, because I also received the same answer. or better: I phoned a number on the website of solidworks italia, where a girl sent me back to the dealers (trad.: the mother house solidworks washes its hands). the dealer contacted, then, although very kind said the same things you reported: they have no access to service packs and they can't do anything for me. He advised me to call a commercial (he was a technician). As soon as I'm done, I'll keep you updated on what he tells me.

probably the thing, then I advance that I talked to you both with a technician and with the commercial, they contacted me via mail 3-4 days after my request telling me that "as favor" could actually send me the last sp relative to the period of assistance.. It was something that did not pass from the mother's house (which as you say wash your hands..) however in their archive was present the sp 1 but 32 bits...so useless for my x64 station...I think there are no outlets at this point, I think the only solution is access as an admin account in order to reduce the blocks of the sw.

Does anyone know if installing a sp downloaded from the internet creates reports or problems? (of course the same sp relative to the period of assistance, not the last issued... )

relative to the bold phrase: They're all dances. have the service packs of all versions. providing you with those you need (relatives to the period you were still in assistance) because you didn't do the complete dowload of the files is just a fact of courtesy, courtesy that they obviously didn't have.
probably dealing with the same referent during assistance leads to more "friendly" relationships so it is not infrequent that they have a minimum of restraint to tighten your loop to your neck and provide you with what you ask and how much you should have the right to have as those sp were included in the assistance contract you paid. with me it was so, and when I stopped the assistance (then you could have all the sp of the last version received) I had enough a phone call to my former referent who made them available to me on their ftp server.

marcof is right, we say that today you have the right to install all the service packs included in the maintenance period and it would be user care to download the patches before the expiry.
the retailer is not obliged to provide the files with finite assistance, but does not commit any infringement if it gives you them. We say that in principle the dealer is more motivated to get you back in assistance than to leave you out, but if he wants to help you he can do it.
