My question arises from what Pythagoric Archimedes says at first. I think he's using a pretty old computer. any pc that you find in the stores now (say an i3/i5 8/16gb ram and ssd from 256gb with undedicated video card) has superior performance. Considering that, from what I understand, it does not intend to use it for professional use (except cam, which is a world I do not know), it seems to me that it could safely load us over a cad and use it without problems. about rendering: I was referring to the basic non-photorealistic renderings that could be obtained with cad 8/10 years ago. sure if the time factor counts little, you can get excellent results even with limited machines.
a few years ago I was able to discuss with a colleague of a studio, who claimed that he had never had any problems using graphics cards not approved by the sotwarehouse.

you cannot answer your question. too generic.
However, a PC from the mall depends on how it is configured. to do simple things 8 gb of ram are a minimum limit. the processor must be fast, but the cads use only one core. the video card can also work a non-certified/professional. depends on software and fortune. some rendering software that work with polygonal mesh prefer video gaming cards, professional cad 3d software want professional video cards "professional". if used with video gaming cards sometimes work and sometimes give problems, which can be slow, flicker, artifacts, or crash in the most serious cases. to make you need power, the faster you have, to do simple things, just a little. .
if you have to start, an old or cheap pc can go well, if you have to work every day, it makes no sense to save money to have issues that you encounter every day.

personally spend fior of euro for program licenses and then go to saving for a pc would be a countersensus as well as a stupidity: as you noted it would lose more time then for crashes and slowdowns than for work.
but for those who use a program in the company in an occasional way, because maybe it does only update once in a while on the products, it is advisable to move the program on a cheap pc and leave the main one to those who use it continuously.

It's not like that anymore. this happened at the time when the first repentance began to circulate. when I bought my first repentum 100 after a few months they sold the repentum300. In my opinion the two things that count most are the processor and the ram, so if you choose an intel processor i7 and at least 8 giga of memory (better it would have at least 16) you will have a decent power reserve. This is the reference base from which to start, processor and ram.
with 800 euros you can buy a discreet machine. these are all intel i7 with 8 giga ram

rather than buy an i7 used at this point better go for a new assembly, maybe using a ryzen 5, I think you can do something within the 1000 euro

It is true that if we had to go down to the technology at the pace with which the novelties come out we should sneak out every day....personally I go to the rhythm of my real needs and agree with tristus on the fact that a good machine with a good cpu and a good ram equipment for a few years allows you to stay calm. my ws on the card are obsolete about the same period of the motherboard of archimede but still I do everything...cad, office, internet, fem and I never happened that the pc would plant me to the maximum it prevents us some more minutes than the last finding of the technology does not change the world... all that is worth if the hardare requirements are correct (good dose of ram and card details). so much to give an idea of the difference of performance between the cpu I recommended to archimede and one of the coolest cpus i7-9700 https://cpu.userbenchmark.com/compare/intel-core-i7-9700-vs-amd-phenom-ii-x4-980/m816180vsm5445

thanks for the advice... I almost take a hd ssd from "3 lire". . I collect the two that I have ( 1 software + 1 data) and connect it alone on a sata output and try to install win10... if it turns benign... for this year "the slap" in search of better months and (maybe less f24 to pay) and richer wallets

I'll be there. I did the "pass"... managed to 99%... and so much chaos of drivers "to search and adapt" to obsolete hardware.. I also managed to network a pc with xp (connected to a cnc) and win10 (against any expectation from what I saw written around). I have win10 without activation (for now
) but the "bottle neck" is the graphics card... Sometimes it stops and turns off the monitor.. have alternatives to recommend me instead of my geforce 210 without exaggerating budget?
I mean... with an 80/100 euro is something new or looking for a used? with the limitations in the red zone you do not see much money.... unfortunately.

for win10 I would go on a gforce 1050 or so, if it is for xp you should search on google "used graphic card for win xp", obviously you will also appear advertising from Italian stores, and you will already find 20-40 euros

taken a hd ssd... downloaded from microsoft win10 for usb key... keyed.. and installed... re-installed programs and reconfigured from zero (custom toolbar, quick keys)... missing the configuration of the 3d connexion and finished. an annoying flaw is that the modem tim configuration is always open at startup even if not required and (often) "lose the connection". to restore it I have to restart win10 (in the modem all the lights line and wifi turned on and regular).. I assume/experience both the modem tim (both those purchased from me (usually tp-linl) and those free tim) more than 2/3 years do not last me.. and I spend them every night as well.. Mah.

In my opinion, voltage surges are not good for routers... a dlink paid a bang lasted me very little. on ebay a little something of professional cards used is found... at the moment those gaming have gone up price in a frightening way.

No boys, I have (yet) need you... migration from xp to win10 has managed but does not help me.

1 hd ssd with win xp (functional configuration, old and working programs)
to the ignition of the pc with 1 hd connected and 1hd disconnected (differently which is) they quietly turn on both operating systems. if I connect them both according to which hd output attack (I have 4 available) always loads the connected hd operating system on 1 (of course)... in computer resources you see hd and folders in both cases.
I would like to boot between xp and win10, I tried (and configured) the program installed on win10 "easybcd" and the result is that at the start of win10 comes the boot... but if boot xp (during boot) exits this error
" correggere errore \nts\easyldr1 stato 0xc000000f"and do not start xp.
if I install easybcd on xp tells me error and does not let me finish the installation
I also tried to modify the boot.ini file... always start error
it is said on the net that xp and win10 in boot do not agree... Who knows more about me to advise me on how to solve it?

hi archimede, with win 7 and win 10 at the start asks me with which os I want to start.... with xp the thing is more rubbing since you should create a boot maneger that allows you to start from xp to 10 and vice versa in the same hd.... time ago my cousin (the good one) had made me this modification on the laptop...if I catch it I give me some information.
