solidworks double rescue

Hi, jenuary.
thanks x the little program that you did that is very helpful, but I wanted to tell you that I tried it yesterday on the vehiia version of sw 2012 and it didn't work on me instead sent in solid crash. Maybe this indication can help you.

Hey, drake,
I didn't get to try it in 2012 because I didn't install it, it is developed for 2015, I'm sure that in 2016 it works, even for windows 10.
Unfortunately, only the .swp macros "tende" to work also in the old versions, but not always true, because of some bees that were not there.
we see what other users say, if the need is different, I will see to create a version also for 2012.

By the way, I think of something while I'm writing:
from 2013 or 2014 up, add-ins should be developed using net.framework 4.0 compilations, while first they had to be developed in 2.0.
I think that's the problem that doesn't work in 2012.

I realized that with the new versions it works safe and it is ok so also x me x that "I am forced" to update me shortly.
I told you that it could help you to understand something more.
Thank you again.

Thanks, it works great on sw 2015, I was also looking for something like that.

Thank you very much:

thank you 1000 jenuary.... you are a great.
installed it seems to work (awesome!!!) I had asked a lot of people told me that the only possible way was the pdm that complicated me too much.
so it's spectacular.... finally! ! !

thank you so much again and good w-end!!

Good morning.
having spoken with jenuary, I first complimented myself for the excellent service of this application that I confirm working perfectly.
I asked, kindly, to be able to apply it also on the assemblies and rightly he suggested that I place this request in this space, so that I can extend also to others the possibility to join/support such improvement or small needs so that I can continue with rel.2 at a single moment.
I take the opportunity to thank jenuary and all the people who want to contribute to this.
Good day

jenuary 22.12.15 09:38

I think it's complete now. Try it and in case you find any kiss, let me know.
the application was studied and head for solidworks 2015 64bit, it should also work in previous versions, but at 64bit anyway.
I bring you here under a series of images for installation, which for reasons of time, I did not manage to do it automatically, we will have to perform some small steps for installation.

first of all close solidworks.

1) unzip the archive "cad3d_savebackground_rev_1.rar" in the main disk of your pc, for example c:\ or d:\ etc, then you will find a director e.g. c:\cad3d_savebackground.

2) inside the folder one of the files is called
register cad3d_savebackground.bat

3)press right-click on it and press "change".
once opened, change the path to the letter of your disk (e.g.c:) and save.

4) press right button again over the same file as at point 3 and press "run as administrator"
this step is mandatory, because the file "bat" allows us to record the "dll" in the register, then it will be recognized by solidworks in the startup phase, and will be present in the "addants".
once you have done this step, a window of "commands prompt" will appear, where you will have to find a line with written
"types have been recorded."
press sending to close the mask.

5) Start now solidworks, in tools-> added, you will find a line with "cad3d", activate the spuns if they are not active, automatically you will create a tab in the taskpane related to the application "savebackground".

comments are well accepted on the merits and defects of the application, let's not forget that it is in rel.1.0, and we can adapt it to the various needs.

with the hope that it is useful and appreciated to many users, I take the opportunity to make the

Happy Christmas greetings to all

Hi.
I also thank jenuary for the program!!!
really spectacular and saves time undoubtedly. . .

in the environment part to me often happens to save the parts in step and iges...is it possible to add in future releases also this?

Thank you very much

Hi.
It is possible, however, to remember that if you want to export with different export options you have to change them to holy handle, otherwise the result is not the desired one.

Hi.

Bye to all,
I attach the release 2.0 of addin savebackgroud for solidworks.
I have inserted, in addition to the requests of step and jpeg for the assemblies, also parasolid and iges for the tables and assemblies.
I think it's more complete now, but it's up to you to evaluate it.

as for release 1.0 we should do the installation, following these small steps:
for users who have already installed release 1.0:- close solidworks
- open the directory where the release 1.0 files are present, so c:\cad3d_savebackground
- overwrite the file "cad3d_savebackground.dll" with the new file in .rar
- overwrite the "parameters.txt" file with the new one in the .rar file
- launch the file "register cad3d_savebackground.bat" by right-clicking on the file --> run as administrator.
- close the command propt window and launch solidworks, you have to find the taskpane with the new version.
for users who install this addin for deprivation:- follow the steps described in this post for release 1.0

I attach the preview of the new interface, in green:

I also attach a macro to further add value to the application; to save the document, had a classic save.
If we connect the macro to our task scheduler (planning utility) by planning an export process, and putting the appropriate spuns in our bread task, we can export only multiple extensions to the same file at a glance, because our application unleashed with saving the document.
I hope you can be useful. (and who treats pdm don't want me)remain waiting for your comments or any issues

Good morning, jenuary, good morning, everyone! ! !

updated to rel 2.0, tested, everything perfect! ! !

Thank you very much. I owe you everything. You know where I am.

good w-end

Thank you! !
I tried the release these days and it all works! !
You are really a handle!! !

Thank you very much

Thank you 1000 january.
This application was made in an exemplary manner, and I would also like to point out that you were very helpful and perhaps beyond... satisfying every person who asked you for specification by making rel. 2.0 I would say complete to all effects!! !

simply saving you can get various versions of the file itself.

thank you 1000 again and congratulations!! ! ! ! !

Hello cristian,
Thank you for the compliments, I wanted to tell you that I was already thinking about a rel. 3.0.
I wanted to insert the possibility to "scatenate" a macro at the "save" event, in fact they would be 2, one first and one after the save, of course if the tick is active; so doing each one can connect the macro he needs (e.g. changes text size, etc.).
if connected before saving the conversion will be updated, otherwise not.
for example the utility could be to replace the cartilage before saving, then to rescue it is restored (not to send to external suppliers the cartilage with the logo of my client, change colors quotas, change of the mapping file before export, etc.)

What do you think? Could a flexibility of this kind be useful?

look at your opinions and proposals on this.

Good day

hi jenuary, it could be useful yes. I also think it might be useful to merge to the rescue the possibility of changing the mode of displaying tangent edges when exporting for example to dwg. i.e. to join the program you did with the macro of the rescue.... What are you talking about?

ok drake, I gladly consider it,
we could also create a set macro rose to the application itself.

Thank you.

Yeah, sure. I'd have some other ideuccia and it's time I'd like to talk about it. . As soon as I can.
Thank you.

Jenuary, that would be spectacular! ! !
I was wondering what you had in mind for the next release. . .
Congratulations!! !

good Monday to all,
finally as promised I created rel. 3.0 of the program, with important implementations:
  • for all three environments, part, table, together, I inserted a flag that allows to launch one or more macros (two) before and after the “save” command event through a dedicated tab, therefore you will find a dedicated panel for setting the macros to be launched.
  • I have inserted a dedicated panel for batch opening and saving of a custom file list, in order to be able to automatically export or edit the files by setting macros; works as a scheduler to understand.
  • with the installation will create a director with three under directors for macros, one for each environment; I have inserted a macro for environment, which in this case performs the optimized view. attacking this macro at the pre-save event, the optimized view will be performed; I have inserted this macro to start, because for those who export jpeg files for preview it is correct that it is saved with the center view otherwise it serves then little.
We could over time create a whole set of macros that perform something before or after the rescue.
for example if you want to change the display mode of the tangent edges at the table only for export, we will connect a macro that changes this mode in the table pre-save and another that restores the old mode after saving.

for installation I created a ".exe" file that will install the plug-in; for those who had already installed rel.1 or 2 there is no problem, will be overwritten automatically.
inside the archive rar you will find a small manual with explanations of how it works and opportunities that will give you this version, mandatory to be able to fully exploit the features (see also the page dedicated to macros).

I hope you can be of great help... in the case of problems or explanations about it let me know, I tested it but something always jumps out, it seems impossible.

very kind jenuary,

I thank in particular for the excellent work done. Thank you so much!!

I wanted to propose an addition to the program to make it more top (according to my point of view), if possible to make it.. .

the company I work for (and I think it's not the only one) manages files in different folders based on their format. I explain better: working with a shared cloud with customer/supplier, who mainly work through pdf, there is a need to have a comprehensive folder of source files (parts, assemblies, steps etc... ) and a folder including only pdf. (so as not to also share source files with customers and suppliers themselves and have more "cleaning" in the folder) would there be a possibility to choose the folder where to save files and not to let them save in the same folder and then go to copy them and paste them?

Thank you again,

you can,
Usually the program was created to save the single file in the background, that is, without the user being disturbed, overwriting the files if already existing.
if you set a path for saving it should be set for each file, otherwise they accumulate within a single directory, which does not happen now because they are saved in the director of the father.

the thing could make sense in batch export where in the list you can also upload the content of multiple directors with promiscuous files and at that point you concentrate everything in a director.

It is also true, however, that each one of us has and will always have a different need, therefore thinking of a better solution, the program could save the files inside a subfolder (e.pdf) in the path of the father, if there is no such subfolder the program automatically creates it; if managed as an option with a tick even better.

we also feel the opinion of other users, surely will come out something good... and thank you for the suggestion.
